((OOC: Please keep in mind, this is being posted a little bit out of order. There are certain events that take place in earlier plot threads that lead up to this. They'll be explained as soon as they're complete. Please bear with me, it's the first time I'm writing a story out of order -_-;.))
The look on Tony's face had become contorted as he looked out the window. The assault on Cirque Mystique was, in very few ways, a success (Storm of Steel). They were able to capture more of the cirque's members, but the resulting losses were too great. Soujiro was gone, Captain America and Maria had defected, and worst of all, his new enemies were now headed right for his front doorstep. Pile on top of that Alpha-7's and Gun-Max's betrayal (Mouse Trap), the Cirque Mystique operation had left Team-X a broken shell of its former self. It was only a matter of time before Hulk turned on him, and there was no telling what Haruhi and Konata would do. It was starting to look as though he'd have to completely reorganize Team-X from scratch. As for Cirque Mystique, it seemed an old adage was about to prove true: sometimes, you have to handle things yourself.
"GLaDOS," Tony snapped angrily, "get the Mark VII ready, and prepare the assault drones!"
***
It had been about 30 minutes after Alpha-7 and Gun-Max found themselves in the same holding cell as the cirque members. The cell was much fuller now, than they last remembered. To say the least, they weren't too comfortable being in the company of former adversaries. They distanced themselves from the main group, doing their best not to antagonize any of them. Alpha-7 had taken to resting on one of the bunks. Her sights appeared focusing on the ceiling, her mind whirling with everything that had happened in the past few hours. One of the more prominent thoughts was back in GLaDOS's chamber, after seeing what she had done to the young unicorn; another prominent thought was a more recent memory, upon hearing of Rourke, and what he had done to Esmeralda. There was a part of her that blamed Strato-Form for all that had happened, but there was another part that reminded her of the role she played. In the end, she was just as guilty as her boss. But, ultimately it didn't matter, because she knew that sometime soon she would pay for all of it.
Gun-Max was not content sitting still, and had immediately starting working towards escape. The cell may have appeared escape-proof to the cirque members, but he knew the systems inside and out. He was more than confident he could find a hole in the prison's systems. He found one opportunity in a small access panel along the frame of the cell. It was tiny, hardly large enough to analyze, but with his advanced binocular vision, it was a simple task accessing it. He'd adjusted one of the bunk beds to get access to the panel, and remained hunched over in a kneeling position as he worked to disrupt the force fields.
"I wouldn't mess with that if I were you," Alpha-7 said flatly, not looking at her partner in crime.
"Don't count me out just yet," Gun-Max said with a half-smile, "I've still got a couple of tricks up my-."
As he spoke, a sudden discharge erupted from the panel, blowing Gun-Max backwards, and knocking him off the bunk bed. He hit the floor with a distinctive thunk. After his hard landing, Gun-Max raised himself up slowly. His armor and systems sustained minimal damage, but it still hurt like heck. He let out a small strained groan as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Tried to warn you," Alpha-7 said, still looking at the ceiling, "GLaDOS tested this thing against the best escape artist in the entire world. Even she couldn't get out."
Gun-Max turned half-way towards Alpha-7, still rubbing the back of his head, "In other words...this place is 'Supergirl' proof?"
"Everything you could possibly think of," Alpha-7 said, "I already thought of it."
"Fantastic," Gun-Max said with a sarcastic tone.

Gia didn't really know rather to be excited or sad for Gunmax being in the cell with them. She didn't wish the same fate as the cirque members had to them, but she did enjoy the fact he had stood up against the company. The leopard woman had stayed between the troupe from the circus and the ex-members of strato-form. She would have been racking her brain over who to sit with if she didn't have her memories, but thanks to Gunmax, she knew she was her own leap(group of leopards). She spent her hours either meditating to practicing. Her muscles ached as they weren't in practice of the stress she put them in training, but she didn't complain.
The woman gave careful and timed glances at Gunnax when she was certain nobody was watching, but other than that, she didn't approach. She wanted to, but there was something that brought all women to anger. She didn't really understand the close relationship between Alpha-7 and Gunmax. Gia didn't dare ask, she merely observed. She couldn't really confess to jealousy, but she couldn't deny it either. There was something she didn't like about the other woman, but Gia was cautious of most of the others. She was discovering herself all over again, and learning to adapt being Gia of the cat-people, and Gia of the humans.
She was once more meditating, this time on scripture, as the missionaries who had raised her had taught her in times of stress. An eye opened slightly and one ear flicked back when she heard Gunmax and Alpha-7 talking about something he shouldn't touch. The cat jumped to her feet when the charge threw Gunmax back. She rushed over, placing a hand on his shoulder. The touch was brief, because she quickly retracted her hand. She looked to Alpha-7 and narrowed her eyes. The look became that of confusion though and she looked to Gunmax, then back to Alpha-7, before returning again to look at the mech. She seemed to be asking what their relationship was, but she said nothing. She turned her back to him and started back to her spot. She stopped half way, as if wanting him to stop her, but like always, she didn't tolerate hesitation.
Her thoughts pointed to Gunmax and Alpha-7 being in a pack all their own, and one Gia was not welcome to interfere with. She lowered herself to the ground and crossed her legs Indian style, then put her palms together. Her ears pointed back and she started meditating again, although she was careful to listen behind her, in case someone had something to say.

Facilier wasn't sure what would be harder: getting in or getting out. Strato-Form Industries wasn't about to just let them in, after all. But he wasn't about to just sit there and do nothing. His daughter was in here, hurt, scared, and who knew what else. He had to get her out of there, if it was the last thing he ever did. He turned to his rag-tag rescue team, compiled of some of the circus members that remained. He hoped they would be enough. "Okay guys, just like I said in our briefing," he said. "We're going to try and sneak in if we can. And if we're caught, then we have to change tactics and go full frontal assault. I'll cast an invisibility spell that will last a few minutes, but no more. And knowing Strato-Form Industries, they may already have technology that can detect that kind of stuff. But it's the best we got. Because if we don't get in there now, who knows what else they'll do to our loved ones trapped in there." He hoped that sounded motivational enough. He let out a slow breath before uttering a magical incantation. His hands shimmered with white magic before he clapped them together. White magic dust floated down from above and landed on the circus members' heads, much like pixie dust. "Alright, we should be invisible to Strato-Form Industries now. Let's roll." Hoping that this would work, Facilier led the circus members towards Strato-Form Industries's headquarters.
Esmeralda was trying to keep it together. She honestly was. But this cell seemed even more confining to her than before, and every time she closed her eyes, she saw Rourke's face. More often than not, she kept herself curled into a tight ball, trying not to cry. If the others didn't know what had happened to her, they probably had a good guess. She didn't know how much longer she could last in here.

If Gia was an agitated cat physically, Belle was an agitated cat metaphorically. Rouke's little...game...had set her on an edge of absolute anger. Anger not just at Tony, but at the man who had raped her best friend. She had been hush-hush about the incident to the others, knowing a riot would be unwise. Not if they wanted to end up in trouble. Nowadays she knelt beside Esmeralda, practically glued to her hip, giving looks of loathing every time an Strato-Form member that wasn't any of the "reformed" entered. That seemed to be the only emotion fueling her now, and it was a side of Belle that hardly anyone had ever seen.
"Are you sure you don't need back up for this spell?" Two unexpected non-members had volunteered to join Faciler and his excursion. One of them happened to have been studying different tactics of magic. The white dust was similar to the own magic he concocted, but perhaps ten times more potent. He would ask for recipes later. Right now the more important thing was rescuing the others - and he and the ringmaster had one goal in common; get back my daughter whatever the cost. Moses Leroux clutched his staff, bracing any attack spells before hand if anything were to come up. "I think he knows what he's doing, Moses," Yes, even Queen Zelda of Hyrule had joined the assault for a rescue mission. Her brown hair was tied back into a loose braid. Magic would be a dangerous weapon to use against technology that could smite it, but it was the only plan she had. If that failed, her rapier, the point glinting like a needle. "The Strato Form will regret what they've done."
Bagpipes would be an awful soundoff to give away the position. So instead, Carl had heard war tunes blowing in his head as Facilier lay down the tactics on invading Strato-Form. His weathered hand clutched his scimitar. For once, he had chosen not revert to gargoyle form. THAT he would save for the assault if it came down to that. Despite his old age, Carl was a fierce fighter. Yes, he had lost nimbleness and flexibility, but the sword arm and will were enough for him. He would get Sally back, and he knew exactly who had her.
Meditation at the temple in Persia had done Gaara well. His mind had been cleared, the hate-corrupted Sands were cleaned. Instead, a new kind of motivation rolled in him. He wasn't going to kill the people who kidnapped Raven, he was mainly going to rescue his wife. He nodded in approval at Facilier's plans, watching both in awe and in apathy as his skin became one with the ground. Invisibility was an odd thing to look at, but the white dust reminded him of his own sand. He would find Raven.

Jing paced back and forth, doing his best to hide his hand, which had slowly gone from the magicked perfect hand to the one he’d had before his powers had fully come about, and this time he couldn’t hide it in his coat jacket. Something had happened to Esmeralda and he didn’t know what, and two of the former enemies were now in the cell with them, and it seemed things were getting bad for their enemies, and Dandin was now in the cell with them. The por vorra shifter was unconscious and for everyone’s sakes Jing really hoped that he stayed asleep. They’d all be blown sky high if the kid woke up and that was bad, bad news. He turned to the two former enemies when Gun-Max was blown backwards and walked over. “Is it Bandit King proof? Tell me the basic structure and I’ll see if I can get out powerless or not” He was a bandit king for a reason. Powers or no he was still a threat.
Jade was agitated and didn’t know what to do. She was torn between two places she felt she belonged to. She belonged with the circus, they raised her and cared for her, but she’d been largely created by Strato-Forms. The dragon didn’t know what to think, but Esmeralda was not looking so good so she limped over to Belle and Esmeralda, her leg still hurting. “Do you need a guard dragon?” It was the least she could do.
Woof wasn’t part of the circus, but he felt a camaraderie with these people and when Facilier got people for the rescue team, he was there in the mix, in his more fierce hyena form, looking around nervously as he got ready mentally for the attack.

Duncan felt like he was bouncing around in his own skin. Stealth wasn't exactly his style of choice nowadays, even if his mother had trained him as a child in that kind of combat. He could be stealthy, no doubt about that, but he would be most helpful in full-frontal assault than anything else. The gem in his chest glowed several shades of red in his anticipation. He had no idea what was going on in there, but for the last couple of days Belle had been feeling almost nothing but the purest anger he hadn't felt since, well, the time he thought his mother was dead. Something had happened, something bad. If any of the circus members had been hurt, those monsters at Strato-Form would pay. Especially if it was Belle. Though she didn't seem to be in pain. She was just... angry. A touch to his shoulder brought him out of his thoughts and he looked to Margaret, who held a comforting gaze despite all of the insanity that was going on around them. He felt himself relaxing a bit. Being so anxious wasn't going to help in the long run. Focus was key. His mother taught him that.
Margaret looked to Moses and Zelda. Moses was ready to lend a hand to Facilier if need be, and while Zelda trusted Facilier's skills she, too, was ready to use her magic, despite the precautions Strato-Forms must have already taken against such powers. "Strato-Form isn't the only one with advanced technology on their side," she said, adjusting the many belts and harnesses that strategically held numerous weapons and gadgets of her own creation. "If we can get in quietly, I'll try to hack into their system and lead security on a false alarm on the other end of the facility. SIRE estimates a ninety-one percent success rate for this in moderate circumstances." Margaret's gentle motherly gaze melted away. What replaced it was a steely gaze that showed her constantly-calculating mind. She was not just a mother looking to protect her son's home or her future daughter in law. She was a soldier, a scientist, an experiment, an agent, and a mother all wrapped up into one very dangerous package. The last thought that came from Margaret Rosenblatt was an expression of regret for not meeting Belle's family under better circumstances. And then she was no longer Margaret. For the first time in a very long time, she was Elastigirl. And God help anyone who got in the way of her mission.
Jane was struggling to remain calm. It had been days since the attack on the circus that resulted in the kidnapping of her godmother, and she was prepared to rip heads from shoulders to get her back. Esmeralda was the only mother figure Jane had in this world and with her gone, Jane was falling apart all over again. Whoever the head of the company was, she would make him pay. Excruciatingly. That was a goal she knew she shared with Facilier, aside from getting every out safely. But Facilier was very agitated, more so than one would be even if this situation. The demon-zombie knew not what had transpired, only that it had set Facilier off and spurred the rescue mission's date closer than ever before. She was ready to fight to the end for this, if it came down to it. As Facilier's spell rained down upon them, Jane and Duncan both felt sensations of not being in their body, and each shuddered. For Jane, it reminded her of her early days of drinking blood, feeling like she was on drugs, not coming down from the highs for days at a time. For Duncan, it reminded him of when Belloc had prevented him from accessing his emotions. He was in control of himself, but it wasn't really him that was there. Neither of them wished for this feeling ever again. With slow, even breaths, they reminded themselves that they were in fact there, in control.
They were ready for this. Whatever happened, they would get their fellow circus members out.

Charlie was going stir crazy. He hated being confined. He hated being separated from Rita, AnneMarie and Itchy. He knew they were here but not where they were. He threw himself repeatedly at the part of the cell he was in. He had tried all of his angelic power to no avail.
AnneMarie had watched helplessly as Esmeralda had been taken from the cell and returned with a broken look in her eyes. She had tried to comfort her but when she realized what had happened she knew that whatever she said or did wouldn't help. All she could do was sit with Belle and Esmeralda. Sighing she sat and waited to be rescued for the third time in her life.
Itchy and Rita were in a cell that allowed them to watch what happened to their friends. Rita sat and cried helpless to comfort Charlie. She had tried countless times to get his attention, but it seemed that the cell she was in was sealed off from Charlie's cell. Itchy watched his best friend throw himself against the wall to the point of death and then recovering and repeating the cycle.
Justin had been thrown into a box with a small window in it to allow him to see what happened to his friends. The box was big enough for the rat but not his other form. He had tried all of his other powers but it was useless, like it or not he was back where he began. "I should have listened to Robin." He said quietly.
Sasha had been shocked when Rita and AnneMarie hadn't come to practice. Her shock had been replaced with anger when she had heard what had happened to her friends. When she had heard about the rescue mission she signed up imeadiatly. Once the group had gotten to Strato-Form Industries she walked up to Facilier and handed her necklace to him. "We're going to need all the magic we have." She said. "Let's see how they react to a pissed off siren." She growled.
Robin had spent the days following Justin's capture making countless arrows. He didn't want to run out like he had at the wedding. When the day finally came to break his friends out he had a total of 30,000 arrows.

Lord Shen had slipped on a mask of determination. The White Phoenix was bringing his A-game. He'd spent much time meditating on the rescue attempt and now that the day had come, he was willing to do whatever was possible to save their missing family. For that was what the Cirque was, he had come to see: a family. And no one would take his family or friends from him. Never again, if he had anything to say about it. "Those fools better be prepared for the storm heading their way." Shen thought out loud to himself.

Maria and Captain America tried to stay close to Facilier as they approached the building. Maria kept looking her limbs over as the invisibility spell fell upon them, her face obviously skeptical over its effectiveness. Considering her lack of experience with magic, it was hard for her not to question whether or not a spell was working.
The Captain gave a quick dressing down of Facilier and the others as they made their way towards the building. No doubt, many of them were wary of them, considering how not too long ago, they were their enemies. The Captain wouldn't blame them if some of them were still holding grudges over what they had done, but there was also a part of him that hoped that they would at least hold their grudges until after the mission was over.
As the walked, Maria quickly caught up with Facilier, "I'd recommend entering through the front lobby. It's the least protected."
"Really?" Captain America asked.
"As Tony once put it," Maria said, "'Only a fool would try walking in through the front door'."

Gun-Max looked over at Gia when she came close to him. He froze when she reached towards him, unsure of how to react. He then reached his hand out when she turned away, though his voice escaped him. If he was honest with himself, he wasn't sure what he was feeling, or what she was feeling. It was probably the first time a woman had left him feeling so...confused.
"I appreciate the offer, Mr. King," Alpha-7 said half looking in Jing's direction, "but you should probably save your strength. My escape plan is already in motion, and you'll need to be at 100% once we get outta here."
Gun-Max looked suddenly at Alpha-7, "You actually have a plan?"
Alpha-7 raised herself off the bunk, and proceeded to explain, "Essentially, the cell was designed with the express purpose of keeping the occupants of the cell from trying to escape. All the fail-safes, traps, bells, and whistles are directed towards the interior. That, of course, leaves the cell with one obvious and easily exploitable flaw: it cannot repel an attack from outside. Therefore, we're left with two options: Option 1, we wait for Cirque Mystique's rescue team, and pray to God that they're able to get past Strato-Form's defenses. Or Option 2, we wait for help from closer to home."
As he looked at Alpha-7, Gun-Max's skepticism of her plan was plainly obvious, "You're telling me...that you're banking on Hulk, Haruhi, and Konata to bust us out?"
Alpha-7 adjusted herself to face Gun-Max full on, "I have a feeling Konata and Haruhi are already sympathetic towards the Cirque. I'm willing to bet they'll be willing to help us. And Hulk may not know them very well, but he knows me. He trusts my judgement, and will follow wherever I lead; once he finds out that Stark threw me in here, he's going to be absolutely livid. Between the three of them, I'd say our chances are pretty good."
"You'll forgive me if I don't share your optimism," Gun-Max answered flatly.
"Relax," Alpha-7 said coolly, "I've got it all planned out."

Gia's stamina was superb, and her mental control had always been well developed, but something about this machine had always set her on edge. In her youth, the wild leopard woman had trained her hardest to be the best. She was the chief's daughter and therefor a leader to most. She had competed against the males of her tribe many times and not one had ever rivaled her strength. There was only one man who had really ever rivaled Gia in skill or strength, both mental and physical. That man was said to be a machine, but to Gia, he was more human than even she sometimes.
She was near to an adult in her tribe's years when their people were captured, but after becoming animal again, much of that maturity was forgotten. The feeling of retaining it once more had made her heart content, so the talk of escaping did not excite her all that much. She would have loved to be free, but she was content for freedom to come in it's own way(she believed she would be rescued one way or another from hearing their plan).
Gia's eyes opened when she heard the woman had her own plan and seemed to be confident upon it. The leopard was somewhat curious, but it branched more from the fact she wanted to learn all she could of this Alpha-7. Her eyes looked to Esmerelda for a moment, remembering someone had come for her a few days ago. The woman guessed something rather horrible must have been done, but it was nothing new. She remembered a few expressions the same on her own people. She had never worn such distress though, or maybe she had. She remembered when her people devised a plan to escape by removing the tooth that gave them their human like qualities. She pointed her ears forward, remembering how she fought, and how she struggled to retain her memories. It was like loosing one's self completely, and she could remember when they tore everything away from her, and how the stress had brought on that creature. She brought her tongue to the back of her row of top teeth and felt the broken canine. The tooth felt jagged, and she recalled when it broke how she became that monster.
Gia lifted herself to her feet, exhaling the breath she had been keeping. She stretched her arms out, then slowly brought them in. She shifted her body slightly, then repeated this process. Next, she lifted a leg and pointed her toes, posing while she practiced self control and flexibility. She grabbed her foot and brought it behind her, above her head.
------------------------------------------------
D'eon and Disodo were together in the rescue team. Disodo was still recovering, but on the surface he seemed fine. D'eon put a hand on his shoulder, "You sure?"
"It's for Gia." Disodo stated, brushing D'eon's hand off. The vampire king nodded and walked away a bit. Disodo was used to the invisibility, it was something Oedipus had used on him in the past for missions. The hell hound knew he might become a werewolf in this fight, but he had to do it for the one he desired to protect. The hell hound readied himself, knowing his emotions could trigger the symptoms and then it would be downhill from there. D'eon looked over to his friend, but made little attempt to stop him from the mission. The doctor was there in case anyone was hurt, but he had his own motives. He cared deeply for the circus members, and for Gia.
These were more than patients to him, they were friends. They were his responsibility. His eyes wondered to where his brother was, hoping Cody was feeling up for this.
((This is going to be after Cody's plot, so he's really just here to help D'eon))
Cody looked down, taking Jane's hand. "I-I don't know if I can do this... I don't have any powers." He reminded her, letting go and crossing his arms. He looked over at his older brother, "I better stick with D'eon, I wouldn't want you to get hurt protecting me." He words were rather bitter, but he meant them. He left her side and returned to D'eon's. "Let's pick the team that will be kicking butt next time, okay?"
D'eon smiled and nodded, "We'll try."

Well, so far so good. They hadn't been spotted, yet. Facilier was just grateful that even people outside of the circus had come to help. They gave him a little bit more confidence. Surely they could win when they had relatives of Belle and Duncan on their side, right? At least, that was what he hoped. While he was still pissed off with Strato-Form Industries, he knew he was going to have to take Maria's advice on how to best get in. She knew this place better than he did, and Captain America probably did too. To Maria's credit though, she was right about the front door being the least protected. There were some security cameras and guards, but nothing more, really. And Facilier was able to take them out with a snap of his fingers. He knew their cover was going to be blown eventually, but he hoped he could put that off until the last possible moment. He fished around in one of the guard's pockets for a moment finding an ID. With one swipe of the card, the doors opened. "Okay guys, just...stay calm and follow my lead," he said as he led them inside. He knew they were all itching to fight and get revenge on this place, but they couldn't start brawling as soon as they walked in the door. They had to conserve their energy, so they would be ready when it was needed.
Esmeralda swallowed and wiped her eyes for the millionth time. AnneMarie, Belle, and Jade were all trying to look out for her, and while she appreciated their kindness, she also felt sick at the thought of it. She was supposed to be looking out for these people, like her father would. A leader needed to stay strong, not break down like this. "I don't know if it'll do any good, but...you can try, I guess," she said to Jade. She knew the girl was trying to comfort her, but she wasn't sure how much a guard dragon would do against these people. They always had a way of finding some way to get to you.

"Once we're in, how will we get past security? I mean, there's so only much allies can do." Zelda whispered to someone nearby. The obvious answer would be to use magic, but since that would only give them away, there came one thing clearly no one had right now; and that was patience.
"No need too fret, Yer Highness," Carl replied. One guard nearby looked confused. It wasn't the one Facilier had swiped, but another. Without any second thoughts, the elder retracted his cane to a long length...and gave a firm but not harsh, blow to the other guard. The man danced around at invisible birds before passing out. The queen stifled a giggle at the old man's spirit; gargoyles did have much fight in them., "Me quarrel's with Xanatos. Once I find him, there will be bloodshed."
Belle understood Esmeralda's pain well. She felt like this whenever she tried to be a leader and no one seemed to listen. But every leader had to have their weaker moments; and oddly enough, it made them stronger. How she had been able to keep herself sane for so long while her other companions were going INSANE was beyond her. She nodded to Jade's request, "There's only so much we can do. I'm starting to run out of strength myself." Fear gripped her internally. Would any more agents come in and try and torment her? After all, Esmeralda had gotten more than a good share, and Raven was absolutely miserable. Yes, she'd put up a fight, but that wouldn't be enough.

"Is there anything I can do to help Belle?" AnneMarie asked. "I hate just sitting here and waiting." She wondered how Charlie, Itchy and Rita were. She also wondered how Sinbad was taking her absence.
Justin paced his box. He had nothing better to do. Then an idea struck him, he could practice his telekinesis, not try to escape just practice. He looked at the bowl and willed it to hover in the air. Before it moved however he was flung across the box and crashed against the side of the box enough to give him a huge bruise on his spine. "OH COME ON!" He yelled.
Itchy whined as he saw Charlie collapse for the tenth time. "I wish there was a way to get to him." He said turning away from the sight. "So do I Itchy. Him and AnneMarie." Rita said. "I'm glad she can't see what he's doing. It'd break her heart." Itchy nodded.
Dejected, defeated and exhausted Charlie laid down. He grimaced as he felt his bones knit back together. He looked at the walls of his cell and groaned as he saw that there wasn't even a dent where he had thrown himself. The only thing on the wall was his blood.
Robin glared at the two former Team-X members. He wanted nothing more than to put an arrow through Captain America's shoulder blades. Well almost. Robin's first priority was getting his friends back.
Sasha walked next to Shen. After months of suppressing her siren's power she felt extremely powerful. Her eyes glistened with power. "Shen?" She said. "I'm scared." She confided.

Shen looked down at Sasha. His face softened when she confessed her fear to him. The phoenix offered her an encouraging look. "I know, Sasha. I think all of us are afraid in some way or another. But we need to press on if we are to help our captured friends." he said in a gentle voice.

The feeling of Cody's hand wrapping around hers made Jane looked to Cody. She was able to catch a glimpse of him before the spell completely turned them invisible and gave his hand a soft, reassuring squeeze. The small smile that had been on her lips disappeared, however, at Cody's words. Before she could verbally respond, he walked back to his brother's side. A soft sigh escaped her lips and she reached out to Cody telepathically. 'I don't plan to get hurt tonight, though if it came down to it I would die for you, Cody. But we'll be alright. I love you,' she thought. While her words weren't entirely comforting, they were also true. Her concentration faltered when the nearby guards suddenly dropped, and her link to Cody's mind severed temporarily as several thoughts ran through her head. There would be employees or more guards, no doubt.
'I'm going into the shadows to look ahead,' she thought, mentally sending this message to everyone in their group. 'I'll be right back.' Without wasting a moment she sank to the ground, becoming one with the shadows and heading into the lobby. Three other guards in the immediate area blocking access to the rest of the facility. She went a bit further, taking advantage of the combination of her invisibility and the shadows in which she silently traveled. A group of employees were having a discussion about some project, and five more guards blocked access to various doors and the elevator. She knew she could take them all out if she wanted, but she was on a team and needed to conserve her energy, so she headed right back to her group to report what she saw. 'I'm back. There are three guards up ahead in the lobby, I think they might be taking over lookout duty from the ones Facilier and Carl knocked out. In the hallway, there's a group of employees, and past them are five more guards, each standing watch individually over four doors and an elevator.' Just to make sure everyone knew what she meant, she also gave them the mental images of what she saw so they could get a good picture. 'With all of your consent, I can link our conscious minds so we may communicate with each other wordlessly if we need to.'
Duncan had watched with his reptilian eyes as the girl named Jane sunk into the shadow upon the ground like she had been standing on water. Yes, he could still see everyone there. Well. Their heat signatures at least. She reappeared soon enough and he nodded at her request. "I'm in," he whispered to her. "Link me up."
"Me too," Margaret replied quietly.
Jane didn't waste time. She linked herself to the two of them, and to Cody, as well. Now she just needed to get consent from everyone else.
