"True," Esmeralda acknowledged. No doubt they would have found it eventually, especially if it was a common food. Regardless, she ordered some within a matter of minutes, and was glad to find that it tasted delicious. "Wow. This is pretty good," she said.

"You humans certainly know a thing or two about flavoring," Aurora agreed with Esmeralda's comment. 'Good' was a bit too simple to describe the taste of the stews. By itself, it would have been lovely. But with the gooey drops of cornflour from the ugali, it gave it a fun experience with textures. "It reminds me of the floral stews the spring courts made when we brought the seasons. The only difference is," she coughed a bit as the tickle of pepper caught her throat. After the 'wasabi' incident in Japan, she had become wiser in testing spices. Some disagreed with her, still, but now she tolerated a few.

Aurora seemed to enjoy the food as well, which made Esmeralda happy. Anything that distracted her for a bit was good in her book. She coughed slightly at the spiciness of it and Esmeralda gave a little laugh. "Is it a little spicier than fairy food?" she asked with a grin.

The answer at first to Esmeralda's answer came out as a very un-ladylike belch. Aurora's cheeks flushed with embarrassment before she took a napkin and began dabbing it across her lips. "Yes, it...is. But I think after the incident with the...was that green thing with the sushi 'wasabi? - I learned which spices I can and cannot digest. Back in the courts, the closest to spice we had was cinnamon."

Esmeralda couldn't help but laugh as Aurora burped. It just seemed kind of the opposite of her demure, shy character. "Sorry, sorry," she apologized, although a grin was still on her face. At the mention of wasabi, she stuck out her tongue. "Bleh, tell me about it. That stuff is nuts. If something is so spicy that it has to be eaten in small quantities, than that's the point?" She tossed her hair back. "Jalapenos, on the other hand, those I could have, like, all the time." Granted, jalapenos weren't that great just by themselves. But mixed with other stuff, they were delicious. And you could use more than a pinky nail's size.

The laughter Esmeralda emitted normally would have made Aurora cry or blush or do something else. Instead, she just felt her cheeks flush the tiniest bit before laughing. Her friend was laughing with her, not at her. The strange word Esmeralda uttered made her cant her head, until she remembered. "Oh yes! Those green peppers that are hot." She had mistakenly bitten into one of those, too. Oh, that eeling of the tickle in her throat to be replaced by the burning sensation that quickly followed.

"I guess some spicy foods tastes better than others," Esmeralda said with a shrug. Some people just had different temperaments for that sort of thing. Lucky thing she and Aurora had found something that was right for both of them. "I wonder if I can get Cinderella to make this," she said, more to herself than Aurora. She was sure Cinderella could figure something out. The girl was practically a magician when it came to cooking.

"Perhaps they sell herbs that you can only find here in Kenya," Aurora suggested. In some parts of the world, certain ingredients were not allowed in the borders of the countries. Esmeralda might have been talking to herself, though, so she just sufficed by spinning her parasol by the handle, taking comfort in the shade it brought her and Esmeralda. After a moment, she asked, "Is it true that some witches are better with herbal knowledge? Like they cannot produce fire like you?"

"Yeah, some witches' specialty is potions and magical mixtures like that," Esmeralda replied. "I can make a few, but I feel like I've never really needed them much. I mean, spells can do a lot of the same things potions can. I guess some witches like making them for other people so they can take a little magic with them, you know?" After all, a witch might not always be around to cast, say, a shrinking spell. But if someone had a potion that could shrink things, they could just do it themselves. It was like magic in a travel-size bottle.

Aurora nodded wordlessly. She supposed that Esmeralda had a point in that regard. On top of being easier, it was less work. Or maybe it wasn't. Maybe witches magic was different than a Faerie's where the magic was effortless; of course, that depended on what the talent and magic had been in the first place. "Have you ever needed some...on the go? Potions I mean?"

"Nah. Usually, I just shoot a spell and boom. I get the job done." Esmeralda shaped her hand like a gun and imitated firing it off to show her point. "Dad's kinda the same way." She gave little laugh. "He totally kept threatening to turn Aladdin into a frog if he ever tried anything funny. I mean, I'm sure Aladdin was kind of freaked out at the time, but it's funny to look back on now."

Aurora said nothing but nodded in understanding. Her eyes twinkled with Esmeralda's gun imitation. Often, jokes about human firearms culd cut too close to home, but she knew Esmeralda would never do anything in a mean-spirited manner. The twinkoling eyes converted to a laugh picturing Aladdin actually turning into a frog if Facilier kept his promise. "Well, I could at least translate for you if that comes to pass...I....I can talk to animals and...they talk to me."

Esmeralda wasn't surprised when Aurora said she could talk to animals. A lot of fairies could. It seemed to be almost standard. "Do you hang out with Belle much? You could probably have a lot of animal bonding sessions or something." Belle was always trying to have a close connection with the animals at the circus. It made them easier to train for a performance. Aurora could probably help with that, since she could talk to them and what-not.

Aurora nodded with an enthsued, "Mhm." Belle was one of the few people in the cirque that Aurora had became good friends with that hadn't been of, well, unhuman blood. "She and I have had a few of those bonding sessions. She's../much braver than I though, I have to admit. I could never approach a lion or a dragon and have it eat from the palm of my hand. Babies, perhaps, but not full grown."

((Wanna start wrapping this up?))
Esmeralda could understand Aurora's point. Big dragons could be a little intimidating. If they weren't under control, they could probably set the whole circus ablaze within minutes. Luckily, Belle and everybody else who worked with animals made sure that didn't happen. They had a talent for that. "Well, we all can't be brave dragon tamers," she joked.
