Howl felt like things were finally getting back to normal, which was good in his book. He didn't want the circus to carry the heavy burden of what Strato-Form Industries did forever. And it seemed like a lot of the other circus members seemed to have the same thought. Howl had seen a lot of them trying to move on, try to get back in the groove of the circus. Heck, even he himself was trying to get back into practicing. At the moment, he was working on, what else, fire spells. It was his specialty, after all. He wasn't half-dragon for nothing. Right now, he had fire dancing between his fingers before shooting flames into the air, making it take on various shapes. One moment, the flames were in the shape of a hawk. The next, it had turned into a serpent. He went from one shape to the next, trying to figure out which ones he could conjure the best. Those were the ones who would go into his act. He was so absorbed in his practicing however, that he didn't notice somebody enter the tent.

Molly had decided with things going mostly back to normal to get some extra practice for a performance. Or her very limited magic, she hadn’t decided which yet. But with the Circus overcoming another obstacle and everyone coming out mostly unscathed, she wanted to get back in the swing of things. Practice, practice. If she stopped she would fall over into sadness. She’d felt useless during the whole Stratoform thing, and needed something to cheer her up. When she walked into the tent, she grinned. Howl was one of the few people that really cheered her up anymore. Molly coughed politely so he knew she was there and wouldn’t burn anything if she surprised him on accident. Though she did love what she saw of his magic, it was spectacular. “Can you do the salamander one again? Or just...keep doing it, this is really cool” Molly grinned and moved to one of the chairs to keep watching, rather hoping he didn’t mind.

Howl jumped slightly when he suddenly heard a voice. Although, luckily, it belonged to a familiar face. "Oh, Molly, hi. I didn't see you there," he said, smiling. Despite only talking to the rabbit-girl once, Howl felt like she was already a close friend. "Sure. Although I'm not sure if the tail looks right. Might have to work on that a bit more." Still, he shaped the flames again into a salamander, trying to make it wriggle around like lizards tended to do when they were spotted by creatures a lot bigger than they were.

She smiled back, immediately feeling more at ease. Molly tilted her head as he did the salamander again and looked at the tail. "Try making it a little thinner and longer, with a bit of a curl. Salamanders I've seen have a small curl in the tail, with more of a taper from base to end" she coughed and looked down. "I'm just giving a suggestion, because you said you didn't feel it looked right. you don't have to listen, I might be wrong"

"Oh, no, it's fine. Any good performer is willing to take suggestions," Howl said, smiling. He moved his fingers slightly, shaping the salamander's tail from the way Molly described it. It did seem to be a bit more realistic when he did. "Hey, it looks way better now. Thanks."

Molly nodded. Not everyone was willing to take suggestions for their performances, but at least Howl was being a good sport about it. She grinned at him, and at the salamander-shaped fire. "No problem. I love helping where I can" Yea...it kept her busy to keep her from thinking of sadder things. "I've never seen your performance anyway, this looks really cool"

"What can I say? A half-dragon like me loves playing with fire." Howl wiggled his fingers some more, and the flames disappeared in a flash. "I've been trying to learn some other spell-work too, but fire just comes so much more easily to me."

Molly grinned. "It makes sense" it did too. Of course he'd prefer fire magic to any other kind. Molly swung her legs as she considered. "I can only do little magic things. Lighting candles is easiest for me oddly. But I have a basic spells book that talks about magic affinity types and how to be more proficient in a type that isn't your natural one. Maybe it'd be helpful"

"Sounds interesting. I'd like to give it a read sometime," Howl said. "If there's one thing that gets me excited, it's books. It's like, anytime I find something written in ancient runes or elvish, I get ecstatic." Old languages fascinated Howl. He still remembered reading tons of stuff like that when he was traveling on his own, before he ran into the circus.

Molly shrugged. "It's in english, but still interesting" she was never the biggest of bookreaders, though she enjoyed a good novel and old classic now and then to curl up with in a tree hollow during the winter, or in a tree branch during summer. "Maybe you can teach me to read in a different language?" It'd be something to do with him, and Molly would like that.

"Oh, sure. Ancient runes is always pretty fun. Almost every magic user knows them. Some of the oldest spells ever are written in that language." Howl was totally on board with the idea. Of course, he was on board with anything that meant spending more time with Molly. She was always fun to hang out with.

Molly's smile became a little strained. "I wonder if my mom did" she said, still brightly but it was a little hard. "I never got to know her" She was quickly back to normal though and grinned. "Alright! This sounds like it's going to be a ton of fun" She declared and laughed a little. "Please be patient with me though! I don't know how difficult these are going to be for me to learn" not that she really minded the idea of difficulty, and Howl teaching her was a bonus. She was always really happy around him.

Molly seemed a little sad when talking about her mother. Howl wondered if she had died or something. He really didn't know a whole lot about Molly's past, other than that love hadn't treated her very kindly, just like him. Well, maybe not just like him. His crush over Belle had give him the equivalent of a scratch. It looked like whatever Molly had been through had given her the equivalent of a broken bone that was taking a long time to heal. But, her enthusiasm soon returned and he smiled back at her. "That's okay. I was kind of the same when my father was teaching me all about being a dragon. I had no idea if I was going to be good at it. There are still some things that I'm learning."

Molly nodded at what Howl had mentioned of his dad. She really didn't know that much about his past, but it seemed pretty happy and that was good. "I met my dad recently. He uh...didn't really go into being a rabbit-demon or anything, so you're lucky" and Isshin had sort of almost ruined her life when he had shown up, though not entirely by choice. Still though, Molly was glad he was gone. Her ears pricked up. "Like what things? You seem to have the fire-breathing down pat"

Dang. A possibly dead mother and a dad that wasn't exactly understanding? Molly had definitely had it rough. It made Howl's life look like a frolic through the flowers. "Well, yeah, I've got the breathing fire thing down. And the flying. But dragons are kind of a proud race. Very fierce. They love a good fight. I don't like violence a whole lot. Sure, if a friend is in trouble, I'll shoot a fireball at whoever's attacking them. But reveling in battles? Kind of not my thing."
