Aurora curled her legs close to her chest and tried not to cry. The scene was laying out in front of her like a movie. A movie that didn't have a stop or rewind option available. One minute, Raimundo was there, saying he loved her. The next, he was gone, and the Sapphire Dragon had literally aerated and engulfed him. Aurora could do nothing but cry out in anguish.
Now she was in the streets of Salem, a town more suites to her liking than Tokyo. She was still barefooted - nothing had changed that habit - and her toes wiggled on the bench she was sitting on, forcing back the water in her violet eyes.

Keats was venturing into the city for the first time since his joining of the circus for some needed errands, such as buying some new shirts and some other items. It was also the first time he had ever gone into Salem and curiosity won out. It was ironic that of all places that Facilier could have chosen in America, it was Salem, notorious for not likeing the supernatural. While he explored the town, Keats presently came across a familiar face, who looked very upset. Keats frowned and stopped in front of Aurora. "Are you alright?" He pulled a handkerchief out of his coat pocket and offered it to her.

Footfalls echoed near Aurora, but she was too wrapped up in her own throughts to catch a glimpse at his face. But she did, howveer, notice the square cloth being offered to her by the person, and for once, her shyness didn't hinder her speech to whimpers or babbles. "Oh. Thank you." She dabbed her eyes with the handkerchief. It was so much more different than dabbing her eyes with the Kleenexes humans used to dry their tears or blow their stuffed noses when they were clogged with mucus.

He smiled slightly when she took the handkerchief and thanked him. It was rare for Keats to actually hear a real thank you, though it sometimes did happen when a human received a ticket now and then. He hesitated a moment and then sat down beside her. "Do you want to talk to me about what has you so upset or do you want to talk about other things?" He asked gently. Anything to make the other half fairy feel better, right?

It felt so odd talking to an acquaintance about something so heavy. But this man didn't seem like the type who would insult her; after all, he had offered her a common courtesy. She finished dabbing her eyes and folded the cloth into a square contemplating on what to say. It was easier with Ana to talk about these sorts of things, or even Starfire, but another man? It was difficult. After forming the words in her head, Aurora shrugged. "My lover is dead." So simple, yet conveyed so much.

He sat there for a few long minutes in silence and nodded slowly after a time. He could see why she was upset and felt deeply for her. "Mine died seven years ago" he confided softly, "it's why I left the Unseelie courts. I...emphasize with your loss, is there anything I can do to make you feel better, at least for today?" He could understand her loss, at least on a small level and did sincerely feel terrible on her account. "Thank you for telling me, Aurora"

Unseelie...leaving the courts...she had this conversation with this man before. At the time, she was nervous being in the presence of one being deemed the enemy of her courts; Queen Mab would have been irate if her fury wasn't focused on other matters. Aurora tucked an ash blonde curl behind her ear. He was being kind to her out of compassion.
"Keats, was it? Forgive me, I am...not exactly in the right place to remember names."

"Don't worry, I completely understand" he assured her. "Yes, my name is Keats. I happen to be the ticketmaster as well" Keats looked around at the happier people all around them and again felt bad for Aurora. Of all the places to choose to feel sad, but maybe that helped her. "Do you want to talk? Perhaps it will get your mind off of what...what happenened, at least for a little while"

Aurora flung her skit over the bench. "Oh, yes, now I recall. We met once, but never had the chance to really...socialize." She ducked her eyes down. Not out of sadness, but out of shyness. She really didn't know much about him. "And I am afraid I do not know much to talk about, to be truthful."

"Well, we never hat time to socialize, as you so eloquently put it. Perhaps we do that?" It would probably keep her mind off her lost lover if he asked her only general things and nothing too personal. "I can start if you wish. My name is Keats, I'm half fairy half...zombie, and up until seven years ago I lived in the Unseelie courts" he shrugged with a half smile. "And now your turn, if you want"

"Yes, you mentioned the Unseelie courts the last time. That is the only thing I remember." Aurora still hadn't moved from her legs folded, arms hugging them position. How a fairy and zombie got together was a very good question, but she did not want to try into Keats life. "The Seelie called me 'Briar Rose' because of my human heritage. Not even my own mother could silence them."

"And you did mention you were a half-human" He said, nodding. He wasn't bothered at all that the unseelie courts was all that she remembered, it was the most intresting part of him that wasn't his unusual heritage. "Briar Rose is a pretty name, and I see why it stuck" He said, smiling. "My nickname in the courts was Tantabus, which means nightmare" he chuckled dryly. "I always preferred Keats, honestly"

Aurora's violet eyes shook with tears. Him, calling her insult pretty? "You obviously were not taught in how compliments were received. By calling someone a negative entity of nature, you were not officially a member, no matter what your birthright was!" She was shout, and a few sparrows were landing nearby, anxiously hopping around. The thing with birds; they always were in a bizarre empathy with her.

"I always thought briar roses were pretty" He defended, and then paused. "But then again negative things were seen positively in the Unseelie courts. Forgive me, then .I'm sorry" He'd have to remember that for future reference. He watched the sparrows hop near the girl and tilted his head. It wasn't often he got to see nature respond positively to someone, except maybe mold and rot and other nasty things. "I'm still learning about the world outside the Unseelie. I meant no disrespect"

"Mhm." That was all Aurora could mumble. The sparrows, who were antsy to match her increasing anxiety, stopped whatever motions or chirps they were making. They cocked their heads at her before she gestured off with her hand. Like a well trained flock, they took flight, save for a few who became occupied pecking at crumbs somewhere in the cracks of the paved ground.
"Not much to describe really. And I think talking about it would make the sparrows do far worse."
