Well, Xander was finally settled in his crib in the bedroom of Belle and Duncan's house. She could finally get a head start on the chore she had been meaning to complete over the holidays. For once, the holidays had gone by with no trouble. The only conflict now was going through books and deciding what to keep and what to throw out. She set the kettle on with a bag of darjeeling to steep for later. She had asked probably the only person she trusted with books to come and visit, and she wanted to be a good host.

Twilight had been busy teaching Mitsuki how to read her tarot cards. She had forgotten about the time and decided to run off to the direction of Belle's and Duncan's house. She knocked her hoof amongst the door gently. Hoping that she wasn't late to help her friend out.

The door knock was music to Belle's ears. She huffed as she pulled down one of the heaviest volumes in her library, which was a very very old dictionary that may or may not have been out of date. "Come in," she greeted the knocker.

Twilight walked into Belles house. She had never been inside a house in such a long time that she almost forgot what it felt like. She started to look for her friend. She looked and saw a room with books. She did know that Belle loved books as much as she did. She couldn't help ,but stare for a minute. The she came to her sences and asked. "Belle?" trying to locate her.

The delicate clomping of hooves echoed in the entryway. The sound was music to Belle's ears; well, not counting silence after Xander's crying fit. Her son was asleep in his cradle, his chest rising and falling, the sweeping noise of Mozart playing in the bedroom. "I'll be there in aa minute, Twilight!" Belle called over her shoulder. She set the volume down and came out into the next section of the library. "G;ad you could make it."

Twilight looked up at Belle and smiled. She was glad to see that Belle still liked her books and the house seemed to look rather pretty. She heard Mozart playing behind Belle's voice. "Oh take your time. Thank you Belle." she said looking around Belle's living room. It was rather a homey house.

"I wouldn't trust anyone with books except for you. I love Duncan but," she picked up one book, which was in a fair enough shape if not for the singed edges, like it had been rescued from a burning, "when he has sneezing, he can cause...accidents." She laughed nervously and flipped to the tile page, trying to check the contest. "So...how do you think we should organize these for reshelving?"

Twilight looked at the book in Belle's hand it looked almost sinders. She was relieved that Belle had rescued the book. Books were treasures after all. She then looked around. "That depends. What type of genres do you have first, Belle?" she asked with a sweet smile. She loved shelving. It was one of her favorite pass times.

Belle made a pft noise with her lips. "You ask what genres I have, I've got it somewhere." She looked at the pile next to her foot. The title was scrawled in Gaelic runes, glistening a faded bronze against the cover. Well, that didn't help at all. So, it was time to dive deeper. She picked it up and began leafing through. "The good news is we don't have to use the Dewey decimal system; it'll just stress everyone out including us," she laughed at her weak library humor. "Looks like we should start with European history. This pile is the biggest."

Twilight gave a light chuckle at what Belle had just said. "Sounds like the perfect place to get started then. Yeah and that is good news." She pulled up the first book and was actually happy to see that it was one of the classics, Pride and Prejudice. She smiled. She loved Belle's taste in books since the beginning. It was what brought the two of them so close. She knew that they were going to have such a fun time together. "I really look forward to helping you with this."

"You said that already," Belle reminded Twilight. She was holding a very heavy copy of German history in her hands, which slipped from her fingers. It opened, throwing out several of the pages which were scribbled with translations. Normally, Belle was against writing in books, but analyzing and summarizing just made things easier. One page fell near Twilight, "Oops. You mind...grabbing that page? I should really just put these things in a folder."

Twilight didn't realize that she was repeating herself. It seemed to be at odds ends about her. She was just thrilled to be working with books again and finally seeing what Belle had in her library, to her it was like being in a Wonderland. She then heard Belle say something about a page dropping. She looked over and saw it on the floor. "Sure, no problem." she said as she picked up the piece of paper and walked over to her. "I didn't know you knew German."

Belle took the age that had fallen. The scribbles were beginning to tear from being written hastily with ball point pen, but the good news was nothing was getting stained too bad. "Well, I do speak French, but I only know a handful of German; they're both romantic languages, so there are some similarities. I just got loose translations from a German dictionary I found at a bookstore." Since the circus traveled to so many locations, it was wise to keep a handful of language books for survival.

Twilight nodded in agreement. "I see. They are all wonderful languages. I remember the Black Forest was quite beautiful and mystical. I love some of the books written by the german arthurs. I can see why you would keep a german dictionary." she smiled as she backed away. "So what books have you been reading lately?"

The Black Forest. Everything about that place was beautiful. It had been one Belle's favorite spots, too. "Did you hear the rumor that the Black Forest was supposed to be home to the Frog Prince? He roams the forest looking for his princess. It's why there were so many frogs in the woods. As for new books," she pulled out a hardback in purple paper. The cover depicted a lovely womn cradling a purple globe. "I started a new series called the Library Jumpers. Kind of an interesting, yet creative premise. So many libraries," she sighed.
