Of all the things for Gaara to do. He was scowling at his reflection in the mirror. The jaded eighteen year old was no longer doned in his classic, comfortable Persian inspired clothing. Instead, he was doning a tattered black cloak over his bare chest. Raven would have killed to see this design. But he was doing this to collaborate with a friend. A friend who took rehearsals a bit too seriously. And now it was show time.

Mozenrath walked into the dressing room for his brother "hey at least you don't have to wear this Gaara..." the taller man said gesturing to the obnoxious over the top white and gold the poor man donned. "But my theatrics suit the antagonist a slight bit better"
Mozenrath was over the moon that Gaara agreed... finally to do this routine with him mind you it took Mozenrath weeks of sheer nagging and begging before Gaara finally agreed if nothing else to shut him up. However Mozenrath thought his and Gaara personal bond as brothers would more to the song then him and a stranger especially considering the songs subject matter.

Gaara rolled his eyes at Mozenrath's comment. Oh, of course the theatrics suited, but appearance wise? In that getup, Mozenrath looked like he came from royalty. If anyone looked like a villain, it was Gaara; the kohl just enhanced the dark look. But despite the rolling of eyes, a small shadow of a smile was emerging.
"Too bad you're spoken for," was all he could say.

Mozenrath blushed at that comment and wringed his hands a bit looking a bit sheepish. "Yes well I a glad for it.... I hope both of our significant others can make it to this though I would be very put out if that didn't" Mozenrath said with a pout, his hands on his hips "Shall we get to the stage brother and knock them on their behinds?"

Well there lay the sassiness of the flamboyant Mozenrath. For a while, Gaara had assumed that Tykki was back inside his head making him act like a stick in the mud. Gaara took one last look before giving his already messy hair another ruffle. There. Now he looked much more nomadic as opposed to a Middle Eastern pinup for women. "Well, I am now," he patted the gourd, not on his back now but rather tucked in a bundle disguised as old rags.

Mozenrath chuckled a bit before sharing a smile towards the red head as he walks to the stage. "Remind me to thank whoever convinced Facilier to get better stage effects for us musicians... I am good but I can't recreate a choir singing in the beginning..." he said laughing a bit as they went before giving out stage directions to the hands running about. "And for the the love of all that is holy don't put bright lights on Gaara the guy is paler then me don't need people thinking he is a ghost too..."

"Rumor has it it was a human," Gaara answered, strutting a bit to catch up with his friend. "I wonder if he'll gain the same notoriety as Belle." He looked out and then saw a familiar brunette, now looking much larger with her finalizing baby bump, sitting in one of the rows. He ignored Mozenrath;s diva-ish and instead looked out to try and find any faces besides hers.

Mozenrath blinked before chuckling a smiled brightening the man's face when he noticed Belle out there "I wager soon the child will be here I am excited for her and Duncan" he said before coming to the final edge of the back stage and realizing Leida was there too. "Looks like your niece came to see you too" he teased pointing out his daughter who was sitting close to the front.
"Are you ready though? I'm a bit nervous... but also fired up as this will be super fun at least I think so"

Niece? Leida was a million things, but niece was an exaggeration. Well, try very very distant niece because Gaara knew little to nothing about her except for the attack. And while that was certainly tragic, looking at her now made it seem like the attack never happened. The twins were off on their own ways - Arella with her clique and Rain rehearsing with the other aerial artists - so any signs of seeing them were less than zero.
"If it helps," the redhead spoke, "I'm nervous too." An applause roared as the act before them ended, giving the prop managers time to set them up.

"You will do fine Gaara you were magnificent in rehearsal I will be attempting to not sob during my part..." he said wit a chuckled before the prop managers finished up and he sighed. "Break a leg Gaara you are up..." he said softly giving the man a gentle squeeze on the shoulder for reassurance before putting on the face necessary for Ramses.

"Good luck finding your way in the dark. Without my help," the fortune teller shot back. He took a breath and walked into the blackened stage. The din of the song they rehearsed began. As if it happened on its own accord, the sand in the gourd began spilling into the lone spotlight. With his hand, the puppeteering began. The grains flew upward, emulating the flies of the said song. A few audience members began scratching as the sand flew around. Despite the multiple pass, presents and futures flying through his mind, Gaara locked them away.
No, he thoguth to himself. The routine. Concentrate on the routine. But even the chaos in his mind added to the atmosphere. The sand finished acting like flies and settled, slithering to imitate a desert dune, and he walked up one platform.

Mozenrath got up to his own platform taking a deep breath as to calm his last vestigeing nerves as his own sand help tell the story as he waited to hear Gaara come in. He watched what he could as he kept the look of sternness on his features radiating the arrogance and anger needed for his part to play.

The cues were flying back and forth, back and forth. The audience was giving multiple reactions,be they gasps of delight or shrieks of terror as things such as sand locusts divebombed through out and exploded into tiny little grains of gold and black. The good news was there was no need to sweep since the grains collected to one another and slithered unseen back to where they came..at least Gaara's did.
