Zelda said nothing as Duncan thanked them both. Instead, a serene smile crossed her face. Duncan made her opinion of Kaijus dwindle a tiny bit. He was the most respectful of the ones she had encountered, and had even swore to keep her goddaughter safe. "I'd say the honor is ours as well. To phsyically interact with someone Belle deems fair enough to be friends with,:
Ding. Upon cue of the approving message, the young girl in question rushed in, hastily tying her hair back. Belle was dressed nice, much to the request of the others, but it wasn't that much different from any of her other simple gowns - minus the off the shoulder, white bell sleeves. "Papa! Zelda!" In half a bound, she pranced over, before realizing the company she was in. "I mean..." she gave them the Hylian greeting, to which they both snickered.
"Belle, it's all right," Moses gestured for his daughter to sit next to his - although he didn't say anything - son-in-law to be. "We're all family here. Zelda and I were getting to know Duncan. Quite an extraordinary young man."
"I know," Belle grinned, kissing her boyfriend with a gentle peck.

Duncan felt a warm pulse in his chest just before Belle entered and he resisted the urge to turn around to watch for Belle's arrival in the middle of Zelda's sentence. That would have been quite rude. When Belle finally came over, his smile warmed. He chuckled a bit as well at the Hylian greeting she gave her parents. Now he knew how he must have looked at first when meeting them: A little too formal. He returned her peck on the lips gladly, finding her mere presence to be uplifting. Upon taking in her appearance he stated, "You look beautiful."

Belle blushed. "Oh, this thing? I just....threw it on." She brushed a stray hand of hair from her eyes. Duncan always told her she looked beautiful, even though she knew she wasn't that day.
"No, I agree with him," Moses smirked. There was a twinge of mischief in his eyes as he watched Belle kiss a boy close to her age. Who would have thought that she would grow up to be like this? An almost spinning image of himself, with touches of Julianna. "Looks like we have another thing in common, Duncan," he joked.

Duncan grinned at Moses as well. He nodded. "Yup, we both think Belle's beautiful no matter what she wears," he agreed, placing a kiss to Belle's cheek and draping his arm over her shoulders. He looked back to Belle's parents with a smile. "I really hate to leave all of a sudden after just meeting you, but Belle and I have got reservations for the restaurant down the street in about," he paused to check the time, "ten minutes." He offered Moses his hand to shake with a slightly apologetic smile. "It was wonderful meeting both of you. Thank you so much."

Belle's eyes widened at Duncan's reminder. "Oh my gosh! That's right!" Here she was pleased that both Zelda and Moses were getting along with her boyfriend, supposedly deeming him worthy of being in her company that she completely blanked on the date part. There was a reason she had dressed nice and had a quick shower, after all.
"You two go do what you need to," Zelda waved her hand casually. "We'll be here, minding on our business. I haven't been to London at all, and Moses promised me a tour."
Moses nodded in agreement. "A pleasure meeting you," he quickly shook Duncan's hand. "I say you two should stick together for as long as you want. Don't think we'll be keep you apart for any time longer." A husky laugh escaped his throat, along with a wink at his daughter.

Duncan gave Moses a firm but quick handshake before removing his arm from Belle's shoulders to stand up. He paused to smile at Zelda. "It's been an honor, your highness," he said respectfully. The halfling's head bowed and his right hand came to his chest, curling into a sideways fist. A variation of the traditional Kaiju greeting where one also knelt, this was the version that was safe to use on anyone that was not of Kaiju royalty--though it was still mostly reserved for people held in high regard in society--without fear of being seen as treasonous. His head lifted and he smiled once more. "I hope to see you two again soon." With that, he took Belle's hand and led her out of the cafe once they had all said their goodbyes. The little box in his pocket seemed to burn hotter, as if it was alive and knew the time for the proposal was drawing near.

"Well," Belle breathed as they left, "I hope they both didn't give you too much trouble. Zelda's a force to be reckoned with by herself. Your mother and her would have gotten along swimmingly." Her face, which before had wore a mask of concern for her parental figures being harsh on her significant other, relaxed into a relieved smile. Now that the eminent fear of having someone she cared about rejected had passed, it was time to really have fun with her boyfriend. Her hand curled gently into his, beaming up at him

Duncan's smile widened when Belle finally relaxed. "They were as excited to meet me as I was nervous to meet them," he replied truthfully with a slight chuckle. He squeezed her hand gently and then intertwined their fingers, leading her through a line--a cluster, really--of people that hadn't made reservations for the restaurant. He could feel their envious stares as they breezed right by.
"Name?" the hostess asked, giving a smile that wasn't entirely genuine.
"I have a reservation for two under Duncan Rosenblatt, for five o'clock," Duncan replied.
"Of course, Mr. Rosenblatt, right this way." The envious stares intensified and the waitress led him and Belle to a booth towards the back. A little more secluded, given his limited dietary options. He pulled out a chair for Belle with a smile.

Like anytime Belle was in a crowd, the urge to apologize after bumping into people nearly came out. Of course, London was a bit in her home turf, so the habit didn't come off as awkward by any means. So, the only dialogue she interacted with the others was "Oh, sorry. Pardon me. Watch your skirt."
Once out of the sandwiching crowds and in the secluded part of the venue, Belle felt all uneasiness lift off of her. Being with Duncan someplace else where they could be themselves was one thing. But to be on an actual romantic date was different. To think last winter she had proposed this. Then while waiting there had been that awkward triple date she went on with her friends. Now, here, her heart began pittering quickly. Don;t be nervous, she scolded herself as Duncan settled her in. He likes you for who you are. Relax. The scary part is over. You two can connect. Clearing her throat, she asked, "So...where'd you find this place?"

Duncan sat himself down once he had seated Belle properly, smoothing out his shirt a bit. "Actually, it's owned by the same people who own that cafe we were just at," he replied. "I know the owners, too. They're a nice older couple who let me rent their spare room while I was traveling, investigating leads in the area regarding my parents... you know, before I got my memory back. It's because of them that I discovered I could stomach coffee." As if on queue, two coffees were brought to the table by a waitress. Duncan quickly thanked her and took a sip, smiling. "So how about you? I know you've been busy with your performance the last few days."

"Is that so? That explains the quick walk." Often two businesses owned by the same company were in fact placed side by side or caddy corner to one another to keep people in a constant flow. Clever marketing. A gentle smile curled up upon hearing about Duncan's connection to the owners. Not many people, especially renowned restaurateurs, would open their doors to many travelers. Belle poured cream into her cup before answering, "Well, yes. Not often do people hear a life harp being played; or...a harpist with a dragon for that matter. I didn't expect the act to get so popular."

"I'm honestly surprised it isn't more popular, since people come from far and wide to see Toothless. The fact that you're able to perform with him astonishes the crowd." He paused to set his coffee down and lick a bit of the bitter unsweetened drink from the corner of his lip.
Just then, the waitress came back to their table, notepad in hand with a smile on her face. "Ready to order?" she asked.
Duncan opened up the menu for a quick peak. His eyes scanned for a few moments, then he closed it. "I'll take the ribeye. No sides, just another cup of coffee."
The waitress nodded knowingly to Duncan, giving him a wink. "Sure thing, sweetie. Ribeye, well done and charred to a crisp," she said before turning to Belle. "And what about you, hun?"

"Trust me. Dr. Facilier is renowned for his voodoo magic around the world. It would take years for me to get to the level of fame he has. If anything, Esmeralda and I would be side by side in a future poster." As Belle finished, the stray drop of unsweetened coffee lingered on the side of his mouth caught his eye. Well, leftover from the lick section. "Hang on, you...got a little...something there." She leaned over, brushing it away with her cheeks burning. Right on cue, the waitress approached with a disposition so sunny, Belle was surprised the London fog didn't clear up.
"I'll take the blackened salmon. I hear it's to die for." Belle ordered, having a hard time NOT smiling around her.
((Time skip))
The china was cleared away with clinks of glass against metal, leaving Belle with the lingering taste of the lemon pepper seasoning. "You weren't kidding, Duncan. The service was probably the best I have ever had."

It wasn't coal, but the steak was good nonetheless and it filled him up. Duncan flashed his signature grin at Belle's high regards to his choice of restaurant. "I knew you'd love it. It probably helps that Mr. and Mrs. Glennon hold my opinion in high regard, and I'm practically like a celebrity around the cafe," he half-joked, letting out a small laugh. Though it was true in someways, most of the staff knew him since he'd helped out in both establishments in his spare time while renting at the owners' house.
The waitress came back over, however not with the check; instead she had two glasses of champagne. "On the house," she said as she set down the glasses and the bottle. Duncan smiled a bit, knowing that at the bottom of Belle's glass was the ring. He held up his glass for a toast, the gem beneath his shirt pulsing just a bit as his hear trate accelerated in anticipation. This was it. Belle was going to see the ring and he was going to propose. It was finally happening.

"The fieriness reminds me of the fresh grilling back in France," Belle explained, "you would have loved the blackening down there. A slight charcoal aftertaste." Two glasses of fizzing pink liquid were dropped off nearby, to which Belle blinked. Champagne? That was incredibly expensive! And on the house? Even if the Glennons held Duncan in high regard, only on a big occasion would they sacrifice a champagne sale. "Wow. They REALLY hold you in high regard," Belle commented, looking at Duncan quizzically. Something was going on; a fancy dinner, meeting her parents, this was beyond gentleman expectations.
After watching three more lines of bubbles rise, Belle raised her glass to toast back. "To...actually getting back to where we were. And to finding favor in the Queen of Hyrule." As the glasses clinked, an unusual bell tone followed. Odd. Belle glanced once more at the glass...and gasped. At the very bottom sat a ring. The band was created by a pair of wings that were wrapped around a thick gem that radiated a watermelon color in the champagne. "...Oh Hylia...Duncan..."
