The enthusiasm of the younger boy was unheard for a while. The curvature wasn't all that difficult to locate. It was just one line that made a V next to the big dipper. If they boy could find that, he could easily locate the large dragon. His brow furrowed at the neglect the ather did in telling the legend. "They say it's a great dragon who protects the fruit of immortality from the humans who would abuse the tree. Of course, in my country of Persia..." He paused. Persia wasn't really his country. He had stayed in the area for wandering in the desert. But at least the culture was the only positive thing he received from it. "...in Persia, they say it's a herd of camels protecting their children from predators."

"Ohhh, that's a nice tale! My dad kept on telling me stories about stars from Japanese and Greek culture only. But hearing a new tale from Persia is fascinating. I did't know that for real!" Chihiro twinkled his eyes in excitement. "Draco must be nice. And stars can tell someone's future or fate, whether it depends on what is your zodiac sign. I wonder if that's also true." he said, remembering another trivia from his dad, "I guess that's the thing called horoscope..."

A cloud passed over Gaara's face. Horoscopes. The very word was an insult to fortune telling. They were woven elaborate lies meant to give people what they wanted to hear. His hand clenched so tightly, the knuckles shook.
"Horoscopes are lies. You would be wise to ignore them. The truth of the matter is the Stars give no meaning. All they give are stories."

"Ah... I see..." Chihiro murmured. "...I didn't believe in that either. Fate is carved in your hands... But it helps that I gained an opinion about it. Thank you for the advice." Chihiro noticed something wrong, but he decided to remain silent from it. "You are seem really like you know a lot of things, sir. I'm learning a lot from you. Thank you again for the knowledge." Chihiro bowed his head to him, as a sign of gratitude.

Gaara just nodded. The hand lines were a common fortune telling practice, but much like horoscopes, they came from lies. However, with the lines, there were half truths engraved. Almost all the line readings lined up with future events. But the child may have meant it figuratively, so he didn't dwell too much on the matter. The young boy was now bowing, and the redheaded fortune teller held up a hand to prevent unnecessary idolizing. "You don't need to give me much thanks. I'm just a traveler who found home in a circus thanks to the Sands of Time, that is all."

"Sands of Time?" Chihiro mouthed out. That was the first time he heard about or... he might have since he watched a similar movie like that. He straightened his posture, now revealing his crossdress attire. He even blinked for a sec, hearing another unfamiliar words but he thought it was normal to hear things like that since he was here in the cirque.

The widenening of the boy's eyes was an answer to how the Sands had becoe things of myth and legend. The redheaded fortune teller nodded sagely, gesturing to the gourd he wore. "They are...alive in a way. They know everything. The past, the present, and glimpses of the future, but are constantly shifting as, well, the future changes. They chose me to hold them as I would not abuse that power...at least, I assume that's why." He had been a six year old boy targeted by a griever; who knew why?

"Alive?" Past, present, future?! A temptation suddenly filled Chihiro's heart, by hearing the thing about future. He gulped a single one. How badly he wanted to know future, but not for him but... for his dad. He wanted to know where was he right now, or what might happened to him in the future. He wanted to ask him, but, Chihiro heard him saying that he could not abuse its power. It was also rude to ask him about it also because, they just met right here. They were nothing but just mere acquaintances right now.
"Uhm... But, how things work with Sands of Time? I mean, how you control it... Like using a computer, kind of that." Chihiro was thinking that controlling the Sands of Time was similar on how to operate a gadget, but he knew it was two different things.

"Simple. I put a little of my will into its own thoughts. It understands and listens to what I want, and works with me. So long as protect it, it will continue to aid me and show me its images. Sort of a..." Gaara shrugged, "...win-win situation."

"I see... I wonder what's my future..." Chihiro quickly understood the young man's explanation. He took another sigh and spoke once again, "Like it has some restrictions also when using it. I wanted to ask when I can reunite with my dad... Uhm... just kidding..." Chihiro said in humor manner, however, it was tainted on his voice the same desperation when he could see his dad again. He was missing him too much. He was missing the only person he could call as "family". "Family is the thing I can treasure in my gruesome life after all..." he muttered weakly.

Gaara's eyes narrowed. The boy was not taking the matters of what he carried on his back in a way that he was not going to sit by and listen to. He folded his arms, still staring at the boy. "I see you are conflicted. It's why you're cross-dressing, is it not?" There may have been some other reason, but it wasn't his place to say. "As for locating your family, I can try and see, but I'm going to ask that you take the matter seriously. I cannot read a future based on farce."

"A-Ah..." Chihiro didn't respond well, or he just didn't know how. "Sorry if I'm not being serious... I'm just kinda uhh..." Chihiro panicked on the inside. "I really apologize, sir..." Now he sighed and it seemed that his disguise was not that effective anymore so he decided to take a serious with melodic mellow on his face. "Everyone is calling me weak. People always insulting me to become a man because I can't play and act like the other boys do. I was too soft but they just didn't know I am physically frail and hard activities will just making me tired so easily. I ended up dressing like a girl so people won't bully me anymore," Chihiro explained about his cross-dressing condition. He said it staring straight to the fortuneteller's eyes, without expressing any emotions.

"Times have changed. The world of judgment you come from is behind you." The cold aqua eyes of the fortune teller expressed the same blankness to the boy. As they had been looking, the Sand had discretely fallen onto him, giving Gaara visions of the past the young by - Chihiro - was describing. A past bent on hurt and laughter at him when things went wrong or if they went beyond the average norms. How he had come to dressing like a girl to avoid that judgment. He decided to close the access for now.
"Chihiro, you;ve been hurt in both physical and mental ways. Dressing as a girl does save cruelty to prejudice, but it brings about a new kind. A kind this world is trying to deny."

Chihiro frowned. The words of the fortuneteller could not be denied and he didn't want to admit but it was real. "I wish I am not weak... I wish I'm strong... Strong that things should not come this way... And..." he took a brief pause. His hands were now shaking as unconsciously, tears began to stream down. When a droplet fell on his hand, he stopped and stared on it.
"...I'm really a crybaby."

"It is not a matter of being strong. What you are doing, by admitting you are afraid, that is a step in the right direction." The fortune teller's face didn't change, not even at the salty smell of tears falling. "I would stop berating yourself and embrace the things you know you can do."
