Gowther anaged a light smile "If they hadn't, I wouldn't be here, and I like being here, a lot." When Charlie mentioned having a second charge, Rain, he raised an eyebrow "So, guardian angels can have more than one person to protect?" Gowther liked how much he had been learning about the different inhabitants and species of the circus so far.

"Not usually." Charlie said with a shrug. "It's normally one charge per angel. But ever since the Alice incident, Annabell, the head angel, kinda wanted each of us to take another charge." Realizing that Gowther probably had no idea who Alice was, or what she did. "Alice was a child snatching demon, and she caused some trouble here a while back."

"Alice incident?" Gowther raised an eyebrow until Charlie explained "That sounds awful. She was stopped, before she could harm any of the children, I assume." Gowther was sure that the answer was yes, but let Charlie explain.

"Yep. In fact I was part of the rescue team. Rain was one of the kids captured, this was before I became his guardian angel." Charlie said. He allowed the memories of what Alice had done to play through his mind so that Gowther would have an idea about how bad a threat Alice had been. Afterwords he said. "She was powerful, but once you figured what made her tick, she wasn't one of the most powerful demons. More of an annoyance really."

Gowther read through the memories and his eyes widened "To think, a little girl did all of that." He wasn't too surprised though. Anyone could be dangerous if they had the amount of power she did "I am glad everything was settled without any real harm being done to anyone here." He could tell that from Charlie's memories that Alice didn't get out unscathed like she planned "And now 'Rain' has a guardian angel watching over him." He smiled lightly, glad that things ended well for the troupe "I guess she wasn't as prepared to face the circus as she thought she was." He couldn't help but find the thought funny. What did she expect to happen? Even with all her power, it was still one girl against a whole circus of people with powers. The odds weren't in her favor, he could see that.

"You got that straight." Charlie said with a grin. "But enough about me, what do you do here at the cirque, I don't remember if I asked or not." The German Shepard angel tilted his head. "Also on a side note, is normal for a headache to occur people getting their minds read multiple times in a row?"

"I have a stage act. I offer to read someone's mind, and with their permission, I do so and retell them what I saw or heard." Gowther reminded him. Gowther was careful when he did his act though. For example, he didn't want to reveal a secret that someone in the audience might be keeping from another audience member. Mind reader or not, it wasn't his place to air someone's dirty laundry. Though he found it funny how often it was that, once confronted with the idea of a mind reader, a person would automatically think about something they didn't want found out. It was almost like a reflex.

"Ah right." Charlie said rubbing his neck slightly embarrassed. "Sorry 'bout that." He said. "I'd like to check it out one of these days. I'd better get going, Itchy wanted me to help him out with his charges. It was nice meeting you. Hopefully I'll see you around." He said with a smile. As he turned to leave he flicked his tail, similar to how a human would wave their hand to say goodbye.

"It's perfectly alright, Charlie." Gowther smiled and waved in return as Charlie left "It was pleasant chatting with you, and good luck with Itchy's charges." When the german shepherd left, Gowther returned to his book, smiling lightly to himself. Charlie was nice, and Gowther hoped to two could chat again sometime. Maybe then Gowther could ask about this 'Red' person that seemed to be on Charlie's mind.
