Needless to say, the circus was thrown into a panic after Strato-Form Industries attacked Jing and Hotaru's wedding. People were either petrified of their next attack, or were steeling themselves up for the next battle. Facilier himself was throwing himself into research about the company, trying to figure out what they wanted with the circus members and how he could get them back. However, people getting captured was only half of what was worrying people. Several others had been injured during the fight, leaving Tulio and Aidan working constantly. Miguel had volunteered to help out if they needed it, but had gotten especially frantic when Tulio had mentioned that Temperance was among those who were injured. He had hurried over to the infirmary tent as soon as possible and saw his friend on a bed, with one of her legs in pretty bad shape. "Temperance!" Miguel ran to her side, hating that he wasn't there to protect her. Or anyone that had gotten hurt or captured, for that matter. Sure, he knew having no powers meant that he probably wouldn't be able to do much in a fight, but he would rather do something than just sit around and do nothing. "Are you okay? They didn't hurt you too badly, did they?" he asked.

Temperance had come in with minimal fight this time, mostly because she had already been putting up with the pain and had finished her dance. She had already been lectured greatly by D'eon, who figured out it was more than a simple fall that had taken it's toll on the muscles beneath her ankle. She laid down now, her eyes closed, but her mind wide awake. Her leg looked sacred, sitting atop a pillow with a thick wrap over it. She blinked her eyes open when she heard a familiar voice. Temperance was still rather embarrassed about the whole thing, so she smiled and blushed a bit when Miguel showed his worry. "Oh please, it's no fuss. I'm not immortal because I never get hurt. This will heal eventually, don't worry about me." She assured him, reaching her hand up to touch his cheek. She lifted herself up, narrowing her eyes at the injury. "I do hope everyone else is alright, my instincts were a bit too focused on the horses..." She confessed, leaning back on the pillows. "Miguel, who did they take?"

Well, that was kind of good news. Miguel still wished that Temperance hadn't gotten hurt at all, but at least there would be no lasting damage. That was good. At least, that was what he kept telling himself. But that bit of good news was kind of miniscule against all the bad stuff that had happened. And he was reminded of that when Temperance asked who was taken. "Hotaru's husband, Jing, got nabbed," he replied. "God, the kids can't even stay married for two seconds before somebody comes to ruin things." He was silent for a moment before continuing. "Belle was taken too. So were a couple of the groomsmen. And...Esmeralda was taken too." He sighed. "I wish I could have been there. I don't know if I could have done anything, but...who knows? Maybe one more person would have made a difference."

Temperance nodded slowly, accepting the outcome. Not many things got to her anymore, not emotionally. She rose again and positioned her leg away from the pillow. She moved until her feet dangled off the bed, "I don't have time to be here, I need to be helping the others. Facilier must be in pain, I will comfort him, and the others." She decided, pushing herself off the bed.
Just then, D'eon walked by with a clipboard and marveled at the sight. "Are you crazy!? You not only didn't come when it happened, but you danced, and attended a wedding, even falling before you actually came in. Your leg is in no shape to walk, worry about yourself-" D'eon ordered, walking over and grabbing her shoulder to try and coax her back in bed. "I'm fine. Honest. I only danced because I needed to, and my this leg isn't mine anyway. If my human body can't keep up with me, that's no fault of mine." She protested against D'eon's wishes.

"Um...is that a good idea?" Miguel asked as Temperance tried to get off the bed. Would she even be able to walk with her leg like that? D'eon came in at that point however, and seemed to voice Miguel's concerns. Temperance didn't just want to lie around and do nothing though, which Miguel understood. He almost felt the same way about the situation. "Do we have a wheelchair around? Or crutches?" he asked D'eon. "That way, she can move around and stuff, but her leg can still recover comfortably." He thought that was a good compromise. The only question was whether they had either of those things on hand.

"That would be worse," She sighed, leaning back on the bed to D'eon's request. She closed her eyes for a bit, "There is no way I can stay like this." She stubbornly crossed her arms. Temperance wasn't sure what she would do, but she had a fairly good idea that if she reverted back to her natural form, the leg would be fine. D'eon shook his head at her antics and walked away, but not before turning to Miguel.
"Make sure she doesn't go anywhere." He reminded him. D'eon had other patients to attend to, so he made himself useful and put trust in Miguel.
Temperance opened her eyes once D'eon was gone and set up again. "So demanding.." She smiled a bit. The woman turned to Miguel and gave him a questioning look, "Hmm, so you're my baby sitter then? Weren't you going to check up on the others?" She smiled widely, clearly up to something.

Okay, that suggestion hadn't gone over well. Temperance still looked like she was about to make a break for it at any second. D'eon was still determined to keep her in bed. Miguel had no idea which was better. Sure, he was concerned about Temperance's well-being as much as D'eon was, probably even more so. But it was Temperance's leg. Shouldn't she, more than anyone else, be the determiner of how much it hurt and what-not? He sighed. This was why he left the medical stuff to Tulio. "Um...not really," he said honestly. "I mean, out of everyone who got injured, you're the only one I...really knew." He looked at her, noticing her smile. "Why do you ask?"

Temperance looked away for a moment, "Because you might have to spend the afternoon with the real me." She chuckled lightly and closed her eyes, still fighting her decision. She had been against showing people her true form for awhile now, wanting to savor every transformation contained in her necklace. However, lately, she had been considering the present and wanting to live every moment as if it were her last, because the people of this circus were precious to her. She opened her eyes after awhile and reached over to the table by her bed, where the necklace lay. The object was a circle with hundreds of strands interwoven into no particular pattern. She picked one of the blue strands, as there were many colors. She put the necklace around her neck, then set up. She used her fingernail to break the thread she had picked, then pushed herself off the bed.
She fell to her knees on the ground, the noise causing D'eon to come over. He approached, but the way her body started moving, made him stop. Temperance's necklace soon wrapped her changing body in a glorious light, as if the transformation was meant for only few to see. The light faded and a black tail flicked the remaining glows away. The floor was covered in a dark shadow, cast from a rather outstanding Friesian horse. The black mare rose on shaking legs as the ground beneath her was unfamiliar. She carefully got her baring, then started sniffing the bed. D'eon rubbed his neck, "That wasn't on her file... I wish she would have told me these things-" He complained, walking over to inspect the leg he assumed would transfer the injury. The ankles of the horse were covered in black hair, like the glorious wavy mane of the breed. The mare lifted the leg and revealed no restraint, then snorted and brushed passed the man. She glanced behind her at Miguel, then let out a 'come and get me' whinny, playfully. She lifted her head and kicked her feet into action, rushing out of the tent like a bat out of hell.
The sun was high, which gave her even more energy. The form to which she had lost long ago, always brought her joy to be back in. She kicked her hind legs and acted as if someone was trying to climb on her back. She was finished with the rodeo shortly when she saw the other horses crowding the gate to come and play with her. She put her ears back, staring at them from across the circus grounds.

Miguel raised an eyebrow. The real Temperance? What did that mean? But he soon got his answer. After she put on some strange necklace that Miguel hadn't seen before, she got out of the bed. But her ankle ended up making her cry out and fall to her knees. D'eon ran over even faster than Miguel did, but it looked like Temperance didn't need any help. There was a bright glow, and then just like that, Temperance was gone and a black horse stood in her place. Miguel blinked. Temperance...could turn into a horse? Since when? He knew she used to be one, but he thought she had lost the ability to turn back forever. He glanced at the necklace. Did that have something to do with it? D'eon muttered something under her breath, but Miguel couldn't hear what it was. Soon enough though, Temperance ran out of the tent, disappearing in the blink of an eye. "Temperance, wait!" Miguel cried as he ran after her. He wondered if he was even going to be able to keep up with her. She was so fast. By the time he caught up with her, the other horses had seen her as well, and they looked pretty excited. "How long...have...you been able to do this?" Miguel asked as he tried to catch his breath.

Temperance looked behind her at the human, then shook her mane. She hated talking in human tongue when in her natural form, but she guessed it was needed. She tried to make him understand first without speech. She walked over and nudged his arm with her head, then rolled her eyes toward the field. She walked toward the field, then looked back, motioning with a flick of her head to the field. She sighed and jumped up and down, inching closer to the field. She wanted him to let go, to be able to run with her. She wasn't going to accept a man who hated horses, or the freedom of nature. Temperance admired the freedom in Miguel, but she wasn't sure if he was ready to run with the horses. Was he ready to accept that part of her that was before him.

Miguel raised an eyebrow. Temperance wanted him to go with her? That seemed to be kind of obvious, even though she wasn't technically speaking. He just worried about keeping up with her. She was so fast. "You'll probably leave me in the dust, with the way you run," he said, grinning. "But I'll try to keep up with you." He patted her neck with his hand.

The horse took off at his words, but her speed did not match that of a race horse, for she wished him to keep up. She took a solid leap and cleared the fence with great ease, her hind legs pushing her above the wooden panels. She landed and was immediately crowded with soft head rubs and approving whinnies. She greeted each with a playful hoof stomp and a wild call of her own, more powerful than the other horses' whinnies. Temperance turned to look for Miguel, walking back to the fence and sniffing of one of the riding blankets. She grabbed the rough blanket from the wood and shook it about, then paraded it around the other horses, listening to their disapproval and playful mingle. She then shook it in front of a rather tall draft horse stud. The horse grabbed for the blanket, but she waved it out of his reach just in time. The two ran about, with the draft horse attempting to take the blanket, and Temperance being one step ahead each time. Finally the male gave in and stood still to pant, reaching his nose to the ground to snort. He then chewed at the green grass in defeat. Temperance raised her head high and marched to Miguel, staring at him with the blanket in her mouth.

Miguel noticed Temperance slowing down enough so he could keep up with her, and he was kind of touched by that. Although he wondered what the other horses thought, seeing a guy run around with someone like her. He almost wished Belle was here. Maybe she would have a clue. But he didn't have Temperance's endurance, and he was soon catching his breath again as she seemed to play some kind of game with another horse involving a blanket or something. Was it some kind of horse thing? Either way, he did laugh a little when Temperance kept the blanket out of the other horse's reach. It seemed like her playful nature hadn't changed too much. He looked at her with a bit of amazement as she walked back over to him. "It's amazing how you still act the same," he said, smiling at her. "Nothing's changed a whole lot, except I can't exactly share a bottle of wine with you at the moment."

The horse threw the blanket over him, then rubbed her head against his chest. She backed up after his words and shook her mane, grabbing the blanket back. The bottle of wine sounded quite well, and her transformation time was ending. The light came upon once more, and she wrapped the blanket around her like a towel, emerging from the light to rest on Miguel's shoulder. The hospital clothing was left on the ground, as she hated wearing it anyway. Her ankle's bandage was in tact, as most transformations were rather easy. "Take me to the bath house, would you? All this talk of wine makes me want to relax." She smiled.

The blanket was soon around Miguel's shoulders. It almost reminded him of the ponchos that were still sold in Spain on occasion. There was another flash if light, and Temperance was back in her human form with the blanket wrapped around her. Miguel was about to ask if she wanted him to get some clothes or something, but she didn't seem to mind too much. He smiled at her request. "Your wish is my command," he replied, one arm around her shoulder as they started to walk.
