"I'm not part of any clan anymore." Roger explained. "I was part of one when I was young, but it was in the west country. They might have moved, I don't know. It's just a different branch of the same group, but different places. Ellie isn't , I left before she was born." He shrugged it off, it wasn't something he talked about much with anyone these days. He didn't like to think about it either.

Instead of continuing to comment, Carl simply nodded. The Ratcliffe Clan was not known to staying in one area for far too long. If anything, the notoriety in Scotland was only there by the time Car was still in his thirties. If what Roger said was true, the clan was spread throughout the world, but their whereabouts remained a mystery that clearly did not need to be solved. He grunted a bit, "heh," before lenaing his cane against the piano. A break could be used, and the piano had yet to make his hearing aid go bezer.

"Yeah." Roger nodded, flicking through a pile of sheets. Looking over each name and who wrote it. "Do you remember any of them?" He asked, it was more for curiosity then anything. He hadn't heard anything from them in a while and it would be interesting in know who Carl had encountered. Maybe it might be someone he knew, maybe someone he had heard off.

"Nay. I only heard about them through stories." Carl shook his head as he grumbled. But, after a momentary pause as he looked at the cover of an old song book, he remembered one name. "Actually...I do remember hearing something about a medic named Ages. But like I said, they were only stories."

"Yeah, I don't remember that one." Roger shrugged. "I remember that some of the clan believed in them while me and few others weren't too sure. But we were kids of the 80s, we were too into the times to really listen to them. Wish I had, I barely remember most of them." He explained. "Ellie would have been interested in knowing them, she's always loved books."

"The 80's?" At hearing the time era, Carl let out a heave of laughter. "Lad, in the 80's, I was still savin' money just to get out of Scotland with Ellie and instead spendin' it on rent. You know, it was because of her I came to this place. She had always wanted to see the circus herself, watch the acts." His blue eyes ducked down onto the gold band on his wrinkled hand. Just thinking of her at times hurt, especially when he knew how close she was. "On the topic of books, has yer daughter met Belle Rosenblatt? The animal trainer? She prob'bly loves books just as much. She and her husband have the biggest library in the cirque."

"Can't help when I was born." Roger replied, with a shrug and a chuckle. he listened closely and felt awkward, just from the sight of Carl looking down at his ring. "I'm sorry for your loss." Roger thought for a second, it was a name that he heard alot around the cirque but he had no clue who he was talking about. "I don't think she has, she use to be quite quiet back when we first move here and only recently turned into a little chatter box."

"A big change, comin; out of her shell," Carl remarked. What was it like watching their daughter grow up in front of them? Carl had never had the chance to have children with Ellie because of her condition, and he and Sally were planning on adopting an orphan child but that never came to fruit. "You would approve of the dragon princess. She's kind and wouldn't do your girl any harm. They'd get along, no doubt."

"She got comfortable here, somewhere she could finally relax. I mean, before we lived around a lot of humans so we had to keep quiet to stay safe. Main reason I we joined here is to stop hiding." Roger shrugged. "Maybe they'll met at the ball that's coming up. who knows." he added, flipping through a handful of old music sheets and trying to rip them; they were yellow from old they were.

"Ah yes, that upcomin' event. I trust you'll be performin? Hopefully no fairies are offended that you take the stage with you talent." A strong fragrance of dust and old ink whafted through the air. Roger was tearing out yellowed sheet music that was crumbling.

"I'll do it if they ask me to. I don't want to force myself into anything." Roger replied. "If they do, I'll keep doing what I love. If not, I get a night off." He shrugged as he could see the dusk floating into the air. "Sorry, I should have said something about that." He waved the dusts away from them, the best he could.

What was that supposed to mean? Deep down, it seemed like Roger hated being here. But as the pianist sat up and walked away, a small flicker of shadow and light caught Carl's eye. Dusk. It was probably a transformative time. Did Riger turn like him? Who knew? "Said something about...what, exactly?"

"If they want me to perform." Roger shrugged, sitting back down. "I mean, I don't know any of them so I don't know what they are planning. I enjoy playing, It's one of the few things I live for. Just be a bit awkward if they already have someone performing and I just show up." He chuckled lightly.

"Aye, but the Fae are very particular about what instruments they play. For all we know," Carl rose. With the setting sun, he was regaining some strength like he had in his youth. With each step, new blood oumped through him. Blood that didn;t feel like it was over seventy. "the Fae have no idea how a piano works," he chuckled at the image of the winged figures staring curiously at the ivory and black instrument

"Really? I wonder what wold happen if there was one to came in contact with a piano. It'll be interesting to see." Roger replied, smirking a little. He turned back to Carl to see the winged figure. He raised his eyebrow as his face went into a surprised expression, he wasn't expecting Carl to change. He quickly shook it off. "Sorry for staring, just took me for surprise." He explained.
