Shanti led Hanyuu right up to her house. While small on the outside, magic allowed it to expand on the inside, so it could accommodate as many people as needed. As far as Shanti knew though, the house hadn't changed much since she had arrived. It had gotten slightly bigger to make a bedroom for her, and a little more space to store toys and what-not. "Here we are," she said proudly as she opened the front door and led Hanyuu inside. "Home sweet home."

Hanyuu looked around, in awe at the building. It looked smaller on the outside, but was much bigger on the inside "Wow, this is an amazing home." Hanyuu couldn't remember the last time she had been in an actual house. Even before being trapped, she lived in the shrine, and afterwards, when Lightning and Thunder freed her, they lived on the road and in the clouds.

Shanti smiled. "Thanks." She led Hanyuu to the living room, where there were a couple of chairs, a comfy couch, and a wide-screen T.V. She turned it on with a push of a button on the remote. "Is this the first time you've seen a T.V.?" she asked curiously. She assumed it was, since Hanyuu didn't know what cartoons were, but she felt like she might as well ask anyway.

Hanyuu shook her head and sat down in one of the chairs "No, I haven't." She leaned forward a bit to inspect the T.V. "It looks complicated." When the T.V. turned on, Hanyuu left the chair and leaned in even closer. Enough to where her nose was practically touching the screen. Then she turned back to Shanti "Does the smaller box control the T.V.?" She pointed to the remote control.

"Eh, as long as you know which button to press, it's not too hard," Shanti replied. According to her mother, T.V.'s used to be a lot simpler. Back in the day, they only had a few channels, and all the shows were in black and white. Shanti couldn't imagine being entertained by something like that. She nodded in answer to Hanyuu's question. "Yup. We've got a bunch of channels here, and each channel has a bunch of shows. Like, the Food Network has a bunch of cooking shows, Fox has the news...ah, here we go!" She had spotted Cartoon Network on the channel guide. "And here, Cartoon Network has, well, cartoons." She clicked on the channel with a push of the a button. The show on at that time happened to be We Bare Bears. "Aw, I love this show. It's funny, and cute," Shanti said.

Hanyuu kept her eyes glued to the screen "The bears are cute!" She spoke, already loving the cartoon. After a couple minutes, she backed away and sat in a chair "Sorry, I must have been blocking your view of the show." She continued to watch the cartoon, her interest piqued.

Shanti couldn't help but laugh a little as Hanyuu's eyes were practically glued to the screen. She soon moved out of the way though, and sat on a chair instead. "It's okay," Shanti said as she lounged on the couch. "You don't want to sit too close, though. Your eyesight will get bad. At least, that's what my mom says."

Hanyuu blushed. She couldn't blame Shanti for laughing at her antics towards the T.V. Hanyuu blinked, realizing that her eyes stung a tiny bit "I understand what you mean." She blinked. She continued to watch the show "There's still much I need to learn about the current times."

"Eh, you're not the only one," Shanti said. "My grandpa's super ancient, but he takes a while to catch up with modern stuff that's going on. Mom says it took him forever to learn how to work an iphone." Despite being centuries old, technology wasn't Facilier's strong point, mostly because he could do almost everything technology could do with magic. She had heard him say once "What's the point of mapquest if I can just use a spell to tell me where to go?" That had been pretty funny.

"I suspected he was older than he appeared. Just from speaking to him, I could tell he was wise in a way that only someone who'd been around for a long time could be." Hanyuu was glad that her assumption of Facilier's being ancient was true. Lightning had a few names for Facilier, more along the lines of 'killjoy' than 'ancient' "Thunder thinks Facilier is like a dad or guardian to the circus. His words exactly." Hanyuu smiled "Shanti, this is fun." Hanyuu loved watching the T.V., especially with a new friend.

"Yeah, I guess he is," Shanti said. "Mom says he's always working hard to keep everyone safe." Of course, the guy was bound to have his slip-ups, but they weren't his fault. Shanti remembered when she had encountered Alice, a dangerous witch disguised as an innocent little girl, and Facilier hadn't been aware of her because she had made Shanti keep her a secret. She still felt guilty for that sometimes, despite the fact that her mother kept saying it wasn't her fault. Alice had manipulated a lot of kids to make sure no adults would be aware of her presence. She nodded in agreement with what Hanyuu said. This was fun. She turned her gaze back to the cartoon for a second and had to laugh when the panda bear gave an adorable, albeit hilarious, sneeze. Hanyuu nodded at Shanti's words "He's a very respectable man from what I've seen of him so far. I'm glad he takes such good care of everyone." When Shanti laughed, Hanyuu looked at the screen and he face lit up "Aww! He really is cute!" Hanyuu didn't care what the panda said, he really was adorable. Hanyuu looked over to Shanti "What other shows do you like?"

"Oh, tons," Shanti replied. "Steven Universe, Spongebob, Phineas and Ferb, all that good stuff. They even show some old stuff, too. Like, there's one called Tom and Jerry where this cat just chases this mouse around all the time and they beat each other up. But it's super funny."

"There's so much to see and do." Hanyuu smiled at Shanti and turned her attention back to the TV "The world really has progressed over the centuries, and it's almost overwhelming, but in a good way." Hanyuu was disappointed that she spent so much time trapped in a shrine. She was never more grateful than when Lightning found her and convinced Thunder to help free her. Now she just had to catch up with all she missed.

Shanti gave a gentle smile. "You're probably not the only one. We get circus members every so often who are kind of...old fashioned, I guess? I don't know if that's the right word. But they find all the modern stuff kind of strange sometimes. They could totally relate to what you're going through."
